In environments where flash fires, electrical arcs, or molten metal splashes are a daily reality, the failure of a single component can have catastrophic consequences. Standard zippers--made from nylon or polyester--melt at approximately 175°C (350°F), liquefying into hot plastic that bonds to fabric and skin.
