Conventional water-resistant zippers are designed to shed rain. They are not designed to hold back gas pressure, prevent vapor transmission, or survive sustained submersion. Our Airtight Zipper is engineered precisely for these extreme conditions. It features a specialized interlocking tooth profile combined with an integrated TPU (thermoplastic polyurethane) sealing flange. When the zipper is closed and the slider passes, the TPU surfaces compress against each other under pressure, creating a molecularly tight barrier that blocks:
- Liquid water (including high-pressure jets and submersion)
- Air and other gases (up to 80 kPa differential pressure)
- Water vapor and humidity
- Fine dust and particulate matter
- Chemical splashes and aerosols
